Festival
I’m Migrant Film Festival is a two-week programme of screenings and events taking place in London, UK.
Founded by Iraqi filmmaker, photographer and writer Yamam Nabeel in 2025, the I’m Migrant Film Festival brings together both emerging and established filmmakers from across the Arab World, creating a platform for cross-cultural and intergenerational conversation through film.
Screenings span feature presentations and curated programmes of short film, including national and international premieres, with all events accompanied by panels and talks from acclaimed filmmakers, actors and producers.
Awards
This latest edition will be joined by an exciting new line-up of judges including:
Nourhan Tewfik, Samir Jamal Al-Din, Koutaiba Al-Janabi and Vanessa Smart.
There are three prizes available this season:
Award for Best Short Drama
Award for Best Feature Drama
Award for Best Documentary
Location
The festival takes place each year at the Genesis Cinema—a family-run, independent cinema and arts venue situated in London’s vibrant East End.
Genesis is committed to exhibiting the best in independent and mainstream cinema, supporting local artists and filmmakers, and providing an enjoyable and valuable cinematic and artistic experience for the local community.
